Traditional Chinese Medicine

Traditional Chinese Medicine is the ancient art of diagnosing and treating using acupuncture and herbs. In Chinese Medicine, a diagnosis is made by looking at a person's tongue and pulse and overall health status in order to understand what needs to be balanced.

Acupuncture is the use of very thin needles inserted at specific points on the body to help initiate healing. The body is composed of 12 meridians that run the length of a person and govern certain organs in the body. Acupuncture helps to stimulate these meridians by increasing the Qi that moves within these pathways in order to balance the body to a more harmonized state. Specific points along the meridian will be chosen according to what symptoms the person is exhibiting. There are over 300 points to choose from, starting from the bottom of one’s foot to the top of the head.
