Botanical Medicine

Botanical medicine is the use of herbs to help heal the body. Herbs have been used for centuries, long before drugs, to help heal those who are sick with a multitude of ailments. Animals instinctively use herbs to heal themselves and most of the world still uses plants as their primary source of medicine. The benefit of using herbs is that on top of doing what they are intended to do (i.e. increase hormone production) they also help support the liver, kidney and adrenal glands all of which are burdened from the multitude of chemicals and stress that we are constantly exposed to. All parts of the plant can be used including the stems, leaves, fruit, bark or roots. It can be used in crude form (i.e. boiling the herb), powdered or in an extract of alcohol called a tincture.
